  • Partnership with Linfox involves 30 electric trucks, enhancing zero-emission transport.
  • Initiative aims to reduce emissions, create local jobs, and encourage innovation in electric vehicles.

Volvo Group plans to start production of the first-ever Australian-made heavy duty electric trucks at the company’s Wacol facility in Brisbane next year.  With a deal involving 30 electric trucks for Linfox, Volvo’s Brisbane facility will assemble part of the order marking a significant boost for local manufacturing and the adoption of zero-emission transport.

This strategy not only targets reducing emissions but also aims to create local jobs and promote innovation in Australia’s growing electric vehicle sector. Martin Lundstedt, Volvo Group’s President and CEO, views this initiative as a step towards strengthening Australia’s electric truck capabilities and addressing specific transport needs.
